Richard is a CPA with a Masters in Accountancy, Specialization in Taxation and numerous professional certifications. As a senior financial executive, he has led both small staffs and large cross-functional teams of 60+ individuals. He has served as CFO in several large nationally-known nonprofits (with revenues of $46 - $130 million) and smaller organizations, too ($6 - $12 million).
His broad experience with complex nonprofits encompasses many industries, including radio and television broadcasting; mobile sports production (as Executive Vice President of FamilyNet, Inc., a for-profit subsidiary); retail bookstore chains; annuity and investment management ($250+ million); planned giving; direct mail and major gift fundraising; elementary, secondary and higher education; publishing; churches and church-related organizations; aviation flight schools; 501(c)(4) organizations and PACs; and more. Special emphases have included acquisitions and divestitures; internal auditing; organizational planning and budgeting; cross-functional reengineering; affinity card financial modeling; online course program forecasting and development; real estate development; bond issues and debt restructuring, to name a few.
